The Totes Neat Giveaway!

Congratulations to Shara, Cindy and Alyssa. They’ve been notified and will be receiving their prizes soon!

Gentle reader,

It’s GIVEAWAY TIME! Hurray! I’m super excited and I hope you are too. ^_^

First of all, let’s recap the prizes.

First prize is a copy of Kristen TenDyke‘s “Finish Free Knits”. Ooooh!

Second prize is a set of KnitCubby mustache stitch markers!

And third prize is a copy of “The Old Man And The Sea” cardigan pattern by Melissa of Singlehanded Knits!

  1. Leave a comment on this page. You can write whatever you want; you can tell me which prize you’d like to win most, you can tell me what you’re crafting at the moment, you can even tell me about the super bad awful un-fun day you had (venting is good! Better out than in, I always say). You just have to write something. But, you can only post once, and only comments on this page will be considered. Comments on regular posts don’t count.
  2. Make sure you include a unique name; you can your actual name, or your blog name, or your Ravelry name. Just make sure it’s something that won’t let you be confused with someone else (so, if you have a popular first name you might want to include an initial). Also make sure you include your email, either in the email field in the comment form or in the actual comment.
  3. The comments will close in the evening of Saturday, May 25th (Australian time).
  4. The names of everyone who has left a comment will be put into a hat and a name will be drawn for each prize starting with third.
  5. Winners will be announced on Sunday, May 26th (Australian time). All winners will also be notified by email and asked for their address to arrange for posting of their prize.

But also don’t forget…

Every reader of The Shy Lion – yes, that’s means you! – gets 20% off any pattern in Melissa’s Ravelry pattern store! Just use the below coupon code and go HERE. ^_^

And finally, a BIG thank you to all the super amazeballs peeps who’ve supplied prizes! Please go give them some love:

  1. Hello Raynor, I’d like to enter your competition please. I actually made it over to Melbourne from Tassie about a month ago and made my first visit to Morris and Sons. I did see you but I was too shy to come and say hello, and I think you were taking a class and didn’t want to interrupt. I was served by a lovely lady with a super cute tattoo of Miffy’s mum knitting which I had to get my little girl to have a look at, she was very excited about it 🙂
Thank you for being so generous and giving us a competition.

  2. I’m so glad that you made it back from the park alright – I was getting worried. I love the park as much as the next girl but four hours worth of parky goodness.. is… is… well I don’t know what it is really but imagine some big theatrics like a worried mama and be sure to throw in the phrase “dead in the gutter” somewhere.

Your prize selection is mind-blowing! I knew you had good taste from your Ravelry project pages and queue but to extend it us gentle reader folk, well that just classy sir. Oh, before I forget… original names and such would be Amy S or PprmntMochaMama (Ravelry name). If I was able to brain that day, my name here should work in connecting you to my world – like a Harry Potter portkey. Oh sorry, my nerdiness was peeking through again.

Thanks again for the awesome giveaway and I’m glad you’re home safe and sound!

  3. What a great giveaway, Raynor! I just finished crocheting a case for my iPad, and now I’m looking for a new project. Maybe I will have to knit something from one of the lovely patterns you are giving away! ~_^

  4. Oooooh! Thank you for having such a loveable & enjoyable to read blog! And now, a sweet giveaway too! All the prizes look fabulous, yes, I want them all! But I especially love the look of the “Finish Free Knits” book!! Woo hoo! 🙂

  5. Thank you for an awesome and entertaining blog! I love to pop over and see what is happening. I would love to win any one of those great prizes and thank you for sharing with us!!!

  6. Hi Raynor,
Could you please pop my name in the hat (I assume it’s a green hat) for the chance to win some of your knitty goodness?
My current crafty goal is to finish my crochet zig zag rug before the weather gets any chillier. I think I can…I think I can…

  7. The only thing that makes a super awesome giveaway more super awesome are excellent pictures.
I always love the clean layout and fantabulous photo and post skillz on display here.

Oh yeah, and I’m totally angling all my good luck prize-winning karma towards those awesome stitch markers. Because, HELLO! Mustaches!

Thank you for sharing prizes with us, and thanks to the generous peeps who made it possible, too!

  8. Hey there Sunshine! LOVE the giveaway! I’ve got my fingers crossed the ‘stash markers – I’m always losing my stitchy markers (& little scissors) – I don’t know where they go, it’s like someone eats them but then again I probably shouldn’t think that cos I do have a toddler in the house & no, I never seen a stitchy marker in his nappy! (uck!!)

  9. Hello Raynor, What lovely prizes you offer. I especially love the stitch markers. I’m mainly crochet, but lately have been trying my hand at knitting. I am making a Capelet from Rowan Winter Warmers. I find the stitch markers I use for crochet do sometimes fall out of knitting! Thankyou for your wonderful blog and wonderful prizes. 😀

  10. What a fabulous giveaway! I recently knit my first sweater, and I’m eager to knit more. The Finish-Free Knits would be a welcome addition to my little library. The KnitCubby mustache stitch markers are whimsical, Melissa’s pattern is beautiful, and the discount is so gracious. I agree with Kiki Kawaii, you do an excellent job with your pictures and your blog. Good luck to everyone!

  11. I loved knitting my Middle Aged Lady at the Lake version of Mel’s old man and the sea cardigan! I look forward to making more of her patterns and to learning more about what you’re doing over in Australia!

  12. I have been doing a lot of shawl and toy knitting lately. I would love to win any of the prizes.

  13. Hi Raynor

What a fab giveaway! I’m just adding a few extra border rows to a starburst blanket for my 7 month old Edie, as well as just starting an Argo cardi for myself. I’ve just given up my teaching job to be a full time mum to my two girls, but when I worked, I used to teach The Old Man and the Sea as an exam text to 15 year olds. I love the novella, and hopefully managed to get a few teenagers to love it too 😉

  14. What a fantastic FUN blog 🙂 and how great to celebrate all the awesome readers. 🙂 I keep eyeballing the book and moustache stitch markers….and just had to enter! With my luck you’ll draw me for the pattern lol!

  15. Love those stitch markers! I have wound yarn for TOM & TS, started and frogged already. (when will I learn to swatch?….)

    • Hello,
What cute prizes, especially the stitch markers. I am a crocheter, and continue to struggle with knitting. Adelaides first alternative yarn and fabric store opened near me and they offer classes so this might be the winter I crack knitting! Also through unrelated endeavours I have inherited a spinning wheel, kilograms of mohair fleece, one alpacas worth of unwashed fleece complete with prickles, and a book entitled ‘dying with eucalypts’. I think my university winter holidays are cut out for me!!!

  16. Those moustache stitch markers are super! May I let you in on a quote from Jonathan Adler’s new book 100 Ways To Happy Chic Your Life that we have just been reading… “There is no family portrait so precious that it wouldn’t look better with a mustache”. True!

I don’t actually mind finishing but I’ve realised I have to space it out otherwise I get impatient and make dumb mistakes, and then it takes even longer to finish. However I have just today finished all the seams on my cable tweed sweater and I’m wearing it right now! Although I really will need to take it off to wash and block it.

  17. Raynor! Great prizes! Right now I am knitting the Golden Lion Throne Shawl (colourwork and lace at the same time), 2 jumpers (topeka and boardwalk) and Geoff is weaving a scrap scarf to donate.
